The 2011 14u Prospects Swept through this Charity tournament by going a Perfect 5-0!



Prospects had a great weekend, beating the Generals Red 28-3 -yes we stopped running in the 1st inning, but the boys continued to pound the ball all over the field. They then went on to beat the Generals Blue, 3-1, then the 15/16u Astros 11-4 in pool play. We then met up with the Generals Blue once again in the semis and mercied them by a score of 15-4. We then Beat the Long Island Sound in the Championship game 6-3.

Great weekend of Baseball boys.. Great Job by all!!

This is a GREAT Charity Tournament ran By Scott Marsh of the LI Patriots and all of the money is Donated to The Danielle Rosano Fund, which now goes to help families whos children are suffering with Cancer.

Hats off to Scott, who busts his ass pulling this off. This tourney is run awesome, and we are so proud to play in this, and proud of Scott for running this great event. GREAT JOB SCOTT!!

The 2011 14u Prospects put on an Awesome Performance at this years Sports at the Beach Firecracker Open.

This Fourth of July tournament is BRUTAL. 4 Pool Play Games, followed by a 4 game shootout on Monday for the Championship. We arrived at the Field on Monday at 7 am for warmups, and we did not finish the championship game until 8:35 pm. WOW what a day of baseball.

There were way way to many highlights in this 8 game tournament to list. EVERY SINGLE PROSPECTS PLAYER contributed to this title. We smoked the ball at every game,had 12 homers combined, and our pitching staff was nothing short of SPECTACULAR!!

In our second game of the day, we STUNNED the always tough, Number 1 seed and favorite to win the tournament CP Stars by a score of 6-5. We then went on to beat the Ramapo Rangers to move on to the championship game vs the NJ Hurricanes.

The boys were exhausted, yet we were in a great game 5-3 until the last inning where we gaveup 3 more runs. We hit the ball hard at every at bat, but right at everyone, if a few drop in, well who knows we could have taken it all.

HATS OFF TO THE NJ Hurricanes!! Great kids, Great parents, Great Coaches and it was a pleasure to play such a class act of a team, coaches and parents!!

The 2011 15u Prospects went a PERFECT 6-0 in this tournament. In pool play, the team started off day one 2-0 by beating the Jr. Ducks 8-3, Behind our starter McKinnon, with Cepeda and Barber in relief. They then played the Rays north team and beat them 25-0 in 3 innings Behind McKinnon once again.

The team was on fire. On Sunday they faced the always tough Brentoowd Chiefs, and beat them by a score of 7-4, behind a complete game win by Griffith. In our final pool play game we went on to play the LI Bandits in a throw away game, and won that one by a score of 4-3, behind once again McKinnon, and Johntry Our Catcher who got the win. Great performance by the pitching staff, enabled us to save our 1, 2 and 3 pitchers for the semis and Finals

In the Semi-Finals we once again met up with the Rays, but this time it was there GOLD team. We beat them handedly by a score of 7-0. Tierney put on a stellar performance, dominating the lineup with a 1 hit 14 strikeout complete game.

On to the Championship game vs the always tough Ronkonkoma Cardinals.

PJ Martino was locked in a pitching duel with Mero of the Cards. PJ was dead on, and threw a 1 hit gem for us in this final game. Back to back 1 hit gems. The prospects had our chances the whole game, but were never able to string a few hits together. Hats of to Mero for keeping our guys off balance the whole night. We went on to win it in a tight game by the score of 1-0.

This was BY FAR one of the most EXCITING games we have ever had the pleasure of playing and watching. HATS OFF TO THE CARDS for never giving up and HATS OFF TO THE PROSPECTS for playing so well.

In our 1st games with the wood bats, the boys performed Extremely well. All the boys were on this weekend, special shout to Bua who tore it up with the bat and scored the only run of the championship. Chris Cepeda (Mariano) also was dynamite on the mound. He came in 3 times with the bases juiced only to send them packing and shutting the door. On to the 16u stacked National Division Boys Of Summer League!!!

The 14u Prospects came out of the gate Friday by playing a tough game vs the LI Vipers, who went on to beat us 4-2 behind a great pitching performance by Krebs. We hit the ball hard, but right at everyone. What could ya do!!

On day 2, the boys came out smoking the ball up and down the lineup as we beat the LI Lions in 5 innings 11-1, behind a great pitching performance of Felske who also hit a 350 foot 3 RBI Bomb well over the wall at Brentwood State Park. On to the tough LI Storm team. In this game Delaney threw a gem as we dominated 16-1 in 5 innings again. In relief was 1st time pitching performance by Martins, self dubbed Martins Mariano!! Great stuff kid!

On to day 3 of the tourney. We faced the LI Bandits and again got out of there in 5, by putting on another hitting show. Thats the way to do it boys, save those arms!! We won by a score of 11-1. Once again,felske got the start, and the bats let us roll with Thomas, Martins and Weinhofer in relief to shut the game down. AWESOME BOYS. Job well done and on to the semis vs the Storm once again!

In the semis we started Krebs again, and boy oh boy did he throw a gem. He had the win with a 52 pitch, 4, YES 4 balls all game complete game 1 hit shutout 7-0 victory. WOWZA what a day!

The finals on Monday had us matched up against the Tough Vipers team. This time, we had there number as we mercied them in 3 by a score of 15-0! Delaney kept them off balance and threw another great game for us with Kearney coming in to strike out the side to close it out and bring home the CHAMPIONSHIP!!

Top to bottom, this team not only smoked the ball, our defense was flawless all weekend. Bove had one of the best performances ive ever seen at 1st base. Bats top to bottom were ruthless all weekend. John DR. RBI Weinhofer was an RBI machine this weekend and deserves a special shout out.. HOF was insane this weekend. Williams ate up the 1 whole as well reaching base almost every time up and flying around the bases like a gazelle.

12u Prospects go undefeated (6-0) in tourney.

The 12u team has come a long, long way from last spring. With hard work, injection of new talent and dedication they have managed to go from a losing club to Memorial Weekend Champs of 2011. Thanks to all parents and players who believed we had what it took to be more than just a run of the mill team. With that said, there's way more work to do. Enjoy your victory, you deserve it. We go back to work soon.. as the chase for more glory continues.

The championship was truly a representation of full team contribution. Every player had a role to play. Everyone contributed. Here are some of the highlights:

Game 1-Prospects beats Conyo Chiefs 9-3. Kriegel put together a great pitching performance. Bats were quiet until the bottom of the 5th. Chiefs were leading 3-2. Then Prospects exploded with 7 runs to hold and take game. Both Boyd & Frankel went 2 for 3.
Game 2-Prospects mercy the Elmjack Elite 12-3. Everybody hit in this one as well but the day belonged to Wrede & Kreigel. Wrede went 3 for 4. Kriegel 4 for 4. Frankel, Profeta & Shadrick had 2 hits a piece. Great to see Wrede & Profeta rocking the ball all over the place! Good job guys.
Game 3-Prospects over Rockcats 15-3. Great pitching by CC. Multi hit games by Wrede, Luna, Kriegel, Profeta, Stern and Rosa sealed the deal!
Game 4-Prospects over Frozen Ropes 7-5. Wrede & Frankel strike again with 2 hits a piece. Profeta goes long with a monster shot over left/center fence.
Game 5 Playoffs-Prospects over NYC Spartans 3-1. Kriegel leading us on the mound once again. This one was a tough one. Arguably the best game of the tourney. Opposing pitcher threw a 1 hitter into the 4Th when Luna banged a solid line drive to right pushing in our 1st run. Clark, Rosa, Frankel, Boyd, Erickson & Shadrick respectively put up a hit to take us into championship game. Nerve racking!

Championship Game-Prospects defeat Conyo Chiefs in rematch 4-3!! CC on the mound. Pitched well through 3. Only gave up 1 run. Frankel jacked 1 and got a hit on top for good measure, Shannon picked up a pair of hits as well. Kriegel comes back in for the close. Kids got an iron arm. Chiefs fought in the end, in the 6th inning Chiefs had the tying run on 2nd. Then a hard hit line drive right back to Dom, he snatches it outta the sky, stares down the batter and walks off a champ.
